Manufacturer-documented route

Standalone and Hub/NVR-connected devices in Reolink’s protocol matrix. Support depends on model, power and connection route.

App compatibility: not physically tested. These notes describe manufacturer documentation. They do not verify playback, audio, camera movement or recording access in CameraViewer.

Confirm RTSP is switched on, the configured port and exact model. Recorder/Hub channels differ.

Prepare the camera

  1. Find the exact model in the manufacturer protocol matrix.
  2. Identify whether the stream is served by a camera, Home Hub or NVR.
  3. Switch on RTSP on that device and record its stream settings.

Model and service limits

  • Many battery Wi-Fi cameras require Home Hub; kit cameras may require NVR.
  • Codec guidance differs by resolution and model; check the selected stream.
  • Battery Wi-Fi cameras through an NVR or Home Hub have preview sessions of up to five minutes, then sleep and disconnect; request the stream again to continue.
  • Home Hub API channel values start at zero; add one for the RTSP channel number.
  • Older NVR hardware H3MB16, H3MB02 and H3MB17 restrict connected 4K cameras to fluent-mode RTSP.

Your next step

Use the model-specific setup guide and record a test candidate, without treating protocol documentation as app compatibility.
