Arlo documents RTSP service use for VMB5000 and VMB4540 SmartHubs, including internal and local streaming.

App compatibility: not physically tested. These notes describe manufacturer documentation. They do not verify playback, audio, camera movement or recording access in CameraViewer.

The port reference supplies no third-party streaming credentials. Do not assume the Arlo account password works as a local device password.

Prepare the camera

  1. Confirm the SmartHub model is VMB5000 or VMB4540.
  2. Request the supported client access method for its installed firmware.

Model and service limits

  • Port 554 and advertised RTSP services do not establish a usable third-party URL. No direct CameraViewer connection is verified.
  • No physical camera has been tested in CameraViewer. Manufacturer documentation does not establish app compatibility.
